Sensing God || Touching God

Sunday, March 17, 2024 || 11:00am

Rev. Dr. Donna Claycomb Sokol || Pastor

Luke 8:40-56

In her book, Life in Five Senses, Gretchen Rubin writes, “Because I noticed more, I appreciated more.” During the last four weeks, we have sought to notice more through the gifts of seeing, hearing, tasting, and smelling. This Sunday, we conclude our worship series on sensing God by examining the power of touch. Rubin notes how, "human touch may help to lower stress, blood pressure, and pain; boost our immune system and mood; and help us to sleep better." Is it any wonder, then, that Jesus used the power of touch to bring about healing and wholeness in the lives of dozens of individuals throughout the gospels?

Join us this morning as we explore a passage of scripture in which one person is healed by touching the hem of Jesus’ robe and another person is healed when she is touched by Jesus. Worship will include the celebration of the sacrament of Holy Communion as well as an opportunity to be anointed with oil for healing
